DIABETES MONTH |
The OPMA is pleased to respond to the APMA initiative around Diabetes Month. The APMA runs an annual ‘KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF” diabetic foot health awareness campaign. The OPMA had planned its own November is Diabetes Month public education postings every Wednesday, but has also jumped on board with the APMA to raise the profile of Diabetic Foot Health issues through our own version of the campaign. The KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF campaign for Ontario will be “public” through the OPMA website and twitter, but also will be publicized by OPMA members.
Four pairs of Diabetic socks to be distributed weekly over the four weeks /dates indicated during November. Let’s KNOCK THE SOCKS OFF Diabetic Foot Health Information during November!!! |
HOW? To get involved please use the PDF of the KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF Mini-Poster that has been shared with you by e-blast. Print off copies of the poster in a size convenient to your clinic (e.g. 8.5 x 11) to post prominently in your clinics. Let all patients with Diabetes know about the contest. | WHAT? Get patients to TELL THEIR STORY (200 words or less) about how a Podiatrist has helped them manage their Diabetic Foot conditions. Every week – Wednesday – during the month of November the OPMA Secretariat will review the submissions, fold and put them into a draw box and select a winner. There will be 4 winners selected weekly and each will be sent ONE pair of Diabetic socks. Stories and winner mentions will be posted on the OPMA website. | WHEN? ! CONTEST NOW OPEN ! Draws will be done on: Thursday, November 14 Thusday, November 21, Thursday, November 28. |
